10th Annual Bikers vs. Cancer Relay for Life “Poker Run” is June 16

Craig and Debbie Drury’s Bikers vs. Cancer Relay for Life Poker Run will mark its 10th anniversary.
This special event will be held on June 16 at McB’s on Main Street in Lebanon.
The event is a day for everyone to enjoy delicious BBQ, win prizes, play poker, ride motorcycles, and raise funds and awareness for the breast cancer research at the American Cancer Society.
In May of 1997, Debbie Drury was diagnosed with breast cancer and told she had only six months to live. It’s been 15 years since that diagnosis and she is still alive and well and riding her motorcycle today thanks to improved breast cancer treatments and the grace of God.
In 2002, 10 years ago today, Craig and Debbie Drury decided they wanted to “give-back” to the American Cancer Society by creating a fun, fundraising event. And so the “Bikers vs. Cancer Relay for Life-Poker Run” was born.
In its first year, the event attracted 20 bikers, and it rained. Last year, 197 bikers participated, and this year’s event is likely to be even bigger with more ways to participate, win prizes and raise money for the American Cancer Society.
The event begins at noon at McB’s. Participants need to sign up between 10:30 a.m. and noon. The ride/poker run begins at noon sharp. A $5 donation is required for the BBQ dinner at 4 p.m., and music by The Big Rock Show will start at 9 p.m.
An entry fee/donation of $10 is required to participate. The fee includes ride entrance and one poker card.
Also available to win are 50/50 door prizes. Additional poker run cards are available for $5 each. Prizes for winners of the poker run ride include $200 for best hand, $75 and a $10 prize for the worst hand.
All proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society.
