Preliminary statistics indicate that 13 people died in 13 separate crashes on Kentucky roadways from Monday, April 18, through Sunday, April 24.
Nine of the fatalities involved motor vehicles and six of the victims were not wearing a seat belt. Single-fatality crashes occurred in Breathitt, Clay, Estill, Harlan, Madison (two), McCracken, Oldham and Spencer counties. Alcohol was a factor in the Clay County crash.
Two motorcycle involved fatal crashes occurred in Fayette County. The victims were not wearing helmets.
