Ok, so you're getting ready to join in the Ham Days festivities, but can't decide what you'll wear. Get yourself down to The Country Store for a 2009 collectors T-shirt before they are all gone.
"Rockin' on 68 Since 1969" logo shirts will take a look back to a shirt that was all the rage in Lebanon "back in the day." The black short sleeved design will feature a sunburst with the familiar Rock N Roll in the center surrounded by the theme "Rockin' on 68 Since 1969."
Look for these to fly off the shelves, as many locals have long since worn out their first edition. Many of the original shirts are safely stored in a cedar chest because their owners cannot bear to lose the memories of the times they put on that shirt and went out on the town. Band members coming to perform at the Saturday night Country Ham Jam are asking for shirts to be held for them to purchase... yeah, they remember the good old days!
The Ham Days committee has taken this year's theme to heart, designing the Ham Days pin and volunteer pin with the same elements and look. The 40th Anniversary design T-shirt will be available starting Monday, Sept. 21, at The Country Store, located in the banquet facilities of The Oak Barrel on Main Street in Lebanon. The store will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. The Country Store will move to its Ham Days location Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27 on Proctor Knott Avenue just off Main Street. Hours during Ham Days are 8 a.m. till 5 p.m.
Adult shirt prices are $10 and $12 for extended sizes. Children's sizes are $8.
Quantities are limited and once Ham Days is over, you'll be waiting another 40 years to get a shirt. Whether you recall the weekend music in Lebanon and Marion County in the 1960's and 70's or you are new to the community, you'll be sure to want this specially designed collectors edition shirt.
