State board okays school
The State Board of Education voted last week six to three to approve the Loretto site as the location of a new elementary school to serve western Marion County children. The local school board had formally requested of the state that they be allowed to construct the building on the grounds of the St. Charles schools in St. Mary. But the state board on July 2 denied that request.
