The Marion County 11 and 12-year-old girls softball all-stars went 3-1 in pool play and went on to win the district tournament in Columbia over the holiday weekend. They will now move on to compete in the state tournament, which will begin July 18 in Prestonsburg.
The nine and 10-year-old girls went 2-2 in pool play and made it to the district semi finals.
See next week's issue for a game-by-game breakdown of the district tourney. Results were not turned in on time to publish that information this week.
