Nancy Jarrett, a regional manager for AT&T, has emailed local officials to let them know that AT&T customers may soon begin to notice 3G service in Marion County.
The engineers are testing the equipment and report things are going well. We should be close to launching two of the sites!╙ Jarrett wrote in an email to Marion County Judge/Executive John G. Mattingly, State Sen. Jimmy Higdon and State Rep. Terry Mills.
Cathy Lewandowski, an AT&T senior public relations manager, added that the company expects to have its mobile Internet up as soon as possible.
Bluegrass Cellular upgraded its local 3G service for its customers in February, and that company started to work on its 4G service last month in Bowling Green, Elizabethtown, Glasgow, Radcliff and Bardstown.
