The City of Bardstown, Nelson County Fiscal Court and the Bardstown Industrial Development Corporation are pleased to announce that SYKES Enterprises will operate their newest state-of-the-art call center in Bardstown.

SYKES Enterprises, headquartered in Tampa, Fla., will operate a call center for a major telecommunication company in the Kentucky Home Square Shopping Center in the site formerly home to Winn Dixie.

"The expansion of our U.S. operations to Bardstown, KY is a testament to the continued demand we see in outsourcing," said Star King, SYKES Vice President of U.S. Operations. "We are grateful for the support of the Bardstown community and surrounding area as we begin our recruitment efforts in support of the new site.  I am confident the commitment, dedication and outstanding work ethic SYKES found here will lead to success for our clients and for the people of the Bardstown community."

The SYKES call center will employ between 450 to 500 people over the next year.

Work has already begun on the renovation of the 31,000 square foot space and the company hopes to open their facility this October, according to Nelson County Economic Development Agency and Bardstown Industrial Development Corporation President Kim Huston.

SYKES, in conjunction with the Lincoln Career Center, will host a three-day Job Fair on July 16-18 in Jideco Hall at the Mitsuba Corporate office facility (formerly Jideco) at 950 Withrow Court.  The hours on July 16-17 will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, July 18, the hours will be from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
