Baseball team announces award winners

The Marion County High School baseball team recently announced their postseason awards at their banquet.

Earning the Most Valuable Player award were Paul Spalding and Devin Spalding.

The Gold Glove award went to Joe Lewis while Devin Spalding won Pitcher of the Year.

The QAB award went to Eric Farmer, who also won the Off Season Warrior award.

Michael Costello won the 110 percent award while Joe Lewis won the Coaches award.

The Freshman Team award went to Justin Lark and the Junior Varsity Team award went to Aaron Hamilton.

Blake Montgomery earned Most Improved honors while also earning a varsity letter.

Others earning varsity letters were Aaron Hamilton, Davis Mattingly, Joey Costello, Clay Thomas and Dylan Spalding.

Earning Academic All-State honors were Eric Farmer and Bryan Gootee.

Those earning Academic Honorable Mention include Justin Lark, Clay Thomas and Alex Gordon.

Michael Costello earned a spot on the All-District team.

Jeremy Morris won the Middle School MVP award while Robbie Spalding won the Middle School Pitching award.

Aaron Buckman won the Middle School Most Improved award while Darren Thomas won the Middle School 110 percent award.
