Bevin, Conway win gubernatorial nominations

Comer seeks recanvass in Republican race

Matt Bevin narrowly defeated James Comer to win the Republican gubernatorial primary, while Jack Conway cruised to a win in the Democratic race last week.
In the May 19 Republican primary for governor, Bevin received 70,479 votes to Comer's 70,396 votes, according to the unofficial results from the Kentucky State Board of Elections. Hal Heiner was third with 57,948 votes, and former Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Will T. Scott was a distant fourth with 15,364 votes.
