Anyone who has driven into Lebanon along Campbellsville Highway has probably seen the large American flag at the top of the hill. That hill — and the flag — belong to Freddie Hilpp. The flag is 30 feet long by 20 feet high and flies from an 80-foot flagpole.
“I just feel very patriotic,” Hilpp said. “I did it out of respect for our veterans, the ones who served and died for our country.”
At night, the flag is illuminated by three 1,000 Watt lights.
“I think it makes our community look a little bit better,” Hilpp said.
