The Marion County Board of Education plans to make a decision regarding a proposed student drug-testing program at its next meeting on March 8.
Tuesday of last week, Shelton Young and Jayne Hogan, members of the Marion County Safe Community Coalition, reviewed the proposal with the board, which they originally did in April of last year. At that time, then-Superintendent Donald Smith said that he would make a recommendation concerning the student drug-testing program at the April 27 board meeting, but that never happened.
