Bradfordsville woman indicted for child abuse

Melissa Pittman, 34, of 205 E. Main Street in Bradfordsville was indicted for first-degree criminal abuse and first-degree persistent felony offender in Marion Circuit Court recently.
According to the indictment, on or about March 20, Pittman abused a person or permitted a person over whom she had custody to be abused thereby causing serious physical injury to that person, or causing torture, cruel confinement or cruel punishment to a person 12 years old or younger or a person who is mentally helpless. The indictment also read that Pittman may have aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.
It continues to read that Pittman was over 21 and was convicted of at least two felonies after her 18th birthday.
She is being held on a $30,000 bond.
