The Marion County Board of Education has scheduled a special called meeting for May 25, at 6 p.m., with the intent of approving a budget for the Marion County Public School System. While the state is still without a budget, Marion County Superintendent Donald Smith and the leadership staff are working to have a game plan for not only next school year, but also the 2011-12 school year.

"It's going to be some tough times in years 11 and 12 so we're trying to brace for it now," Smith said.
