Charles Henry ‘Sonny’ Brussell, 83

Charles Henry “Sonny” Brussell, 83, Lebanon, died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Village of Lebanon.
He was born on Nov. 24, 1928 in Marion County. Brussell was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, a member of the Lebanon Knights of Columbus, and a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Charles Phillip and Mary Prudence Mattingly Brussell; and three sisters, Ethel Reynolds, Henrietta Gootee, and Kathleen Lindsey.
Survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Anna Laurencia Hill Bussell of Lebanon; three sons, Larry (Doris) Brussell of Bradfordsville, Chuck (Paula) Brussell and Ricky (Tammy) Brussell, both of Lebanon; five daughters, Kathy (David) Gribbins, Mary Lou (Garry) Gribbins, Carol (Tony) Morgeson, Barbara Jo Brussell, all of Lebanon, and Martha (Jerry) Asbery of Perryville; a brother, John Brussell of Louisville; two sisters, Betty Spalding of Lebanon and Evelyn Cissell of Loretto; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Chris Rhodes officiated.
Active pallbearers were Robbie, B.J., Derrick and Stephen Brussell, Joe David, Timmy and Jeremy Gribbins, and Josh Morgeson.
Honorary pallbearers were Joanie and Will Welch, Kimberly, Sara and Lauren Brussell, Sara Gribbins, Janice and Mathew Collopy, Jill Morgeson, and J.B. and Bernadine Thomas.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
