The Lebanon City Council has only approved the first reading of a proposed property maintenance code ordinance, but building inspector John Thompson believes it is already making a difference.
"One lady has already torn three houses down," he said. "We may already be experiencing the effects of the ordinance."
Thompson hopes that is only the beginning. He estimated there are 10 properties in the city that could become the focus of the city's initial enforcement efforts if the council approves a second reading of the ordinance.
