When the Marion County Board of Education went into closed session during its June 8 meeting, it did not violate the open meetings act, according to an opinion issued by the Kentucky Attorney General's Office July 6.
The Attorney General's Office found that the closed session held during that meeting was allowed under KRS 61.815(1)(k). The section allows a governing body to enter into a closed session for meetings which "federal or state law specifically require to be conducted in private."
