Countdown to 3,000: Epps needs 51 points

After the win over Mercy Saturday in which Makayla Epps had 22 points, she now has 2,949 career points.  
She needs 51 total points to reach 3,000 career points, joining only 20 other girls’ basketball players in Kentucky since 1975.
Rebecca Greenwell surpassed 3,000 career points on Jan. 17, which will now make Epps the 20th member of the 3,000-point club.
She currently is averaging 22.3 points per game.
She will most likely surpass 3,000 points in the Raatz Fence Classic in Louisville this weekend.
