The Marion County Fiscal Court's budget could be $30,000-40,000 below its projected revenue by the end of the 2008-09 fiscal year, according to Marion County Judge-Executive John G. Mattingly.
Mattingly reported on the status of the budget during the Dec. 18 fiscal court meeting. He said the economic development office has estimated there will be approximately 330 fewer people working in Marion County next month than there were in January of 2007.
Mattingly reminded the court that it did not increase the projected occupational tax revenue in this year's budget.
