The Marion County Fiscal Court approved the 2011 budgets for the Marion County clerk's office, the sheriff's office and the Marion County Water District during its Dec. 16 meeting.
The county clerk's budget estimated for 2011 is $2.74 million. This is a decrease from the 2010 budget, which County Clerk Karen Spalding estimated will be near $3 million.
The estimated 2011 sheriff's budget is $813,850. This is an increase over the 2010 budget estimate of $689,000. Part of the reason for the increase is the anticipated opening of the Marion County Judicial Center. The Administrative Office of the Courts has requested 11 bailiffs when the center opens. This is an increase over the four bailiffs now working at the courthouse. The AOC provides reimbursement to the county for the bailiffs.
The water district is estimating it will have $2.49 million in revenue in 2011. This is an increase over the 2010 estimated revenue of nearly $2.4 million and the 2009 actual revenue of $2.19 million.
