The Marion County Fiscal Court has approved the first reading of a $13 million budget, but it will no longer spend money for a lobbyist in Frankfort.
The magistrates gave their initial approval to the proposed 2011-12 budget during a special-called meeting June 4.
The court anticipates spending more than $5.3 million from the general fund, more than $2.5 million in the road fund and nearly $3.9 million on the Marion County Detention Center, according to the budget proposal.
