The Marion County Fiscal Court approved a lease agreement with Nalley and Hayden for a new construction, demolition and debris landfill site. Under the agreement, the county will lease the property for $25,000 for five years.

The county's current CD&D landfill is located on Calvary Road near the state barn. The new site will be located off of Adam Hughes Memorial Highway.

Marion County Judge/Executive John G. Mattingly said the county needs to build an access road to the new CD&D site before it will be available for use.

The CD&D landfill is only for building materials, such as brick, drywall and insulation.
