Day two of the KFC / Taco Bell Holiday Homecoming Classic is in the books

 Game one

Doss 63, Wanneroo 28

Wanneroo was already in the bonus by the end of the first quarter. They capitalized in the second quarter by scoring all 11 of their points off free throws. They held Doss to 10 points and went into halftime down 30-22.

Doss regrouped in the second half, outscoring the Wolves 16-0 in the third quarter and 17-6 in the fourth. Wanneroo had only two field goals in the second half.

Cameron Clemons from Doss led all scorers with 19 points. He is averaging 22.5 points per game in the tournament. Jemayne Abduramanoski added 11 for Wanneroo.

Game two

West Jessamine 67, Washington County 52

West Jessamine withstood several Washington County surges to outlast the Commanders.

The Commanders cut West Jessamine’s lead to four late in the third quarter but would cool off in the fourth letting West Jessamine pull away.

Jonathan Rehner of West Jessamine led all scorers with 18 points. He is averaging 18 points per game after two games in the tournament. Teammate Jarrod Polson is averaging 21 points per game. Will Purdom led Washington County with 16 points.

Game four

North Hardin 81, Lafayette 68

            Lafayette hung around nearly all game against the athletically superior Trojans but the departure of leading scorer Ray Roberts didn’t help their campaign.

            Roberts left the game in the second half with a knee injury. He was 7-10 from the field at halftime.

            North Hardin knotted the score at 36-36 and never looked back against Lafayette as Greg Johnson led the way for the Trojans. Johnson finished with 30 points, leading all scorers. Johnson was averaging 27.5 points per game in the tournament as of press time.

            Roberts and Yarborough led the way for Lafayette with 16 points apiece.
