The Marion County Board of Education could soon create two new positions: district athletic director and assistant athletic director.
Creating the positions was one of several recommendations made by White and Company, P.S.C. after it completed an in-depth audit of the school district’s activity funds. The audit report released in mid-April showed sloppy accounting practices, specifically at Marion County High School. There was no indication that any money was missing, but the bookkeeping at MCHS, in particular, was a mess, according to the school board’s report.
