Rather than starting from scratch, the Marion County Public Schools Drug Testing Implementation Committee has sought input from other communities that have drug testing in place.
On April 14, Isaac Frye of the Washington County Heartland Coalition, nurse Phyllis Gentry from Nelson County High School, and Adair County High School Principal Troy Young met with the Marion County drug testing committee.
While there are differences in the details, all three said drug testing has been a deterrent for students.
