School's out but the lunchroom is still open
Local students are on summer break but thousands of school lunches are still being served.
The Marion County School District is currently serving 17 summer feeding sites, according to Taylora Schlosser, assistant superintendent and food service director. In May, approximately 3,000 meals were served, Schlosser reported to the Marion County Board of Education during its June 12 meeting.
