Eight Highway Deaths During July 4th Holiday Weekend

Preliminary statistics indicate that eight people died in eight separate crashes on Kentucky roadways during the four-day July 4th Holiday period, Thursday, July 2 (6 p.m.) through Sunday, July 5, (11:59 p.m.)

Four of the fatalities involved motor vehicles and none of those victims were wearing seat belts. Motor vehicle crashes occurred in Bullitt, Clark, Davies and Mercer counties. Two of the crashes involved the suspected use of alcohol.
