Eleven die on state roadways

 Preliminary statistics* indicate that 11 people died in 10 separate crashes on Kentucky roadways from Monday, Jan. 17, through Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012.
Nine of the crashes involved motor vehicles and six of the victims were not wearing seat belts. Single-fatality crashes occurred in Bath, Christian, Clay, Jefferson, Logan, Ohio, Simpson and Union counties. The suspected use of alcohol was a factor in the Bath County crash.
One double-fatality motor vehicle crash occurred in Spencer County.
One pedestrian involved crash occurred in Greenup County.
