The Lebanon Enterprise continues to partner with the jolliest man in the land, Santa Claus, and deliver local letters to him at the North Pole before Christmas.
This year, the Enterprise will also continue the tradition of publishing letters written by local children, only with a twist.
A special edition of the paper will include the most well-written letters to Santa from each class (pre-K through fifth grade) from all five of our elementary schools. Local teachers will select one letter from each of their classes, and those letters will be published in the Enterprise before Christmas. (The letters must be submitted by teachers via email.)
Children younger than school age may submit letters directly to the newspaper office, located at 119 S. Proctor Knott Avenue in Lebanon, Ky 40033, or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. The Enterprise helpers will draw out a few of these letters to publish in the special section as well. (Emailed letters should include "Santa letter" in the subject line.) Letters should include the name, age and hometown of the writer.
In order to ensure letters reach the North Pole in time for the 2012 Christmas rush, letters should be submitted no later than 5 p.m., Dec. 5.
If you do not get a response to your email, that means we didn't receive your letters. So, please make sure you verify that we received them. The mean ole' Grinch has been known to cause some Santa letters to get lost in cyberspace.
Little boys and girls (pre-k through fifth grade) can also submit one Christmas drawing. Artwork must be drawn in black ink on white paper. A felt-tip pen is preferred and no crayons should be used.
