Farm Bureau's annual meeting is Oct. 12

The 71st annual meeting of the Marion County Farm Bureau will be held Monday, Oct. 12, at the Lebanon Masonic Hall.

Keynote speaker for this year's event will be Dr. Tony Brannon. Dr. Brannon is dean of Murray State University School of Agriculture and chairman of the Kentucky Agricultural Council.   Among the awards to be presented will be "Distinguished Service to Agriculture" and "Distinguished Service to Farm Bureau." The outstanding youth and talent awards also will be presented. And the students who received college scholarships will be recognized.   "Each year we also like to recognize a young farm family," says Joe Paul Mattingly, president. "Getting started in the farming profession grows more difficult each year."   Directors from each district will be elected. Nominated are George Gribbins, Mike Ford, Eddie Hill, John G. Mattingly and Kaye Peterson.
