The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Marion County and much of central Kentucky. The watch is in effect from 9 p.m. Thursday, July 30, through Friday morning, July 31.
The weather service is predicting showers and thunderstorms this evening with low temperatures in the upper 60s and south winds of five to 10 miles per hour shifting to the northeast after midnight. The NWS is calling for a 90 percent chance of precipitation tonight. For Friday, the NWS is predicting mostly cloudy conditions, highs in the upper 80s and west winds of 5-10 miles per hour. For Friday evening, the weather service is calling for partly cloudy conditions with lows in the mid-60s and light winds. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms through Monday, according the NWS.
