Denise Fogle has resigned from the Lebanon City Council.

Fogle submitted her resignation, effective immediately, at the end of Monday’s meeting. Fogle wrote in her resignation letter that she was submitting it with great regret.

“Due to circumstances that are out of my control and with a heavy heart I have to step away from this role in order to receive my Kentucky Retirement benefits and most importantly the health insurance that comes with those benefits,” she wrote.

Fogle added that she has enjoyed her time on the city council working to build a better community and a better Lebanon.

“I hope again in the future I will be able to work with such great people as I have with you all,” she wrote. “I also hope to support and serve my community again as I believe in the City of Lebanon.”

She also wished continued success to her fellow council members.

Mayor Gary Crenshaw read Fogle’s letter to the council at the end of Monday’s meeting. He then thanked Fogle for her service to the city.

"It has been a pleasure serving with you," Crenshaw said.
