John Sheperson, a retired Kentucky State Police sergeant and a former Lebanon Police Chief, died Sunday, July 5, after a battle with cancer. Sheperson, 64, of Gravel Switch was a United States Air Force Veteran with a 26-year career in law enforcement. He retired from the Kentucky State Police on July 31, 1988, as a sergeant from Post 15. He left KSP and went to work for the Lebanon Police Department. He was hired as a patrol officer in Lebanon in 1989, and promoted to sergeant in 1991. He was the chief of police from 1994 to 1996.
