Freshmen, JV Knights, Lady Knights fare well

The Marion County junior varsity and freshmen Knights and Lady Knights basketball teams continued their seasons last week.

The junior varsity Knights beat Washington County on the road. The Knights outlasted the Commanders 53-25. Brian Loper led the way for Knights with 15 points. Marquise Douglas and Justin Price added 11 points apiece. Josh Brockman and Dalton Mills both added five points. Valis Mudd had four and Kendrick Knopp had three.

The Knights freshmen squad lost a double overtime thriller to Washington County. Fouls limited  Marion County to four players as the Commanders won 57-55 at home.

Eric Burton led the way with 16 points. John Southall added 15 points and Patrick Gribbins had 14. Carlos Litsey and Kendall Taul had four points each. Eric Farmer added two points.

The Knights freshmen squad outlasted the Bardstown Tigers 55-49 in district play at the Roby Dome.

Brian Loper led the way with 14 points. John Southall and Patrick Gribbins added 11 points apiece. Carlos Litsey and Justin Price added six points each. Eric Farmer had five points and Eric Burton had two points.

The Lady Knights JV squad opened their season against Bethlehem two weeks ago. They beat the Banshees 36-24.

Amy Brown led the way with 10 points. Ann Taylor Medley added eight points. Emily Fenwick had five points and Tee Bridgewater had four. Ann Morgan Reynolds and Tessa Simpson had three points apiece. Coco May had two points and Hikaru Murakumi added one.
