H1N1 death reported

Twelve cases of H1N1 have been confirmed in Marion County, and now one death has been attributed to this strain of the influenza virus.

The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family services included the Marion County death on its updated chart, which is available at kyhealthalerts.gov.

The Marion Countian who died was a man in his 40s who had underlying health conditions, according to Gwenda Bond, an assistant communications director with the cabinet.

The family of the man has requested that his name not be released.
