Bluegrass Cellular has selected the 2013 Bluegrass Cellular Scholarship recipients, 18 Kentucky high school seniors who will each be awarded a $1,500 scholarship.
“What’s rewarding about this program is the ability to see how much potential our bright young students hold for themselves and for our community,” said Barry Nothstine, vice president of sales and marketing for Bluegrass Cellular. “We received more than 200 scholarship applications this year – a record for our 12-year-old program. While it was difficult to choose from such an outstanding group of applicants, we have confidence in the selected students and look forward to watching their future success.”
The local 2013 Bluegrass Cellular Scholarship recipients include:
Abigail Hagan and Joseph Fenwick, both from Marion County High School.
The Bluegrass Cellular Scholarship is offered on an annual basis to graduating seniors who attend high school in one of the company’s 40-county coverage areas. Scholarship recipients are selected by a panel of judges based on criteria including financial need, academic achievement, and school and community involvement.
Next year’s scholarship application is scheduled to release in January 2014. For more information about the program, contact Jescanta James, Marketing and Public Relations Administrator for Bluegrass Cellular, at (270) 765-6361 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
