Higdon loses Senate whip election

State Senator Jimmy Higdon has a pretty good track record of winning elections, but he came up short last week in a bid to become a whip for the Senate Republicans.

“I was one of the ones on the slate,” Higdon said. “I did not make it.”

The election was held during the Senate Republicans caucus meeting held Nov. 27 in Frankfort. Sen. Brandon Smith of Hazard won the election for the whip position.
