How-to festival is Saturday at the library

The Marion County Public Library is hosting its first How-To Fest from 10 a.m. to 2:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6.
The festival is free for anyone who would like to attend. Participants will have a chance to learn about a variety of topics such as creating art, working on legal papers, preparing for a disaster, getting healthier and using an iPad more effectively.
The schedule for Saturday’s event is as follows:

10-10:20 a.m.
- How-To create mixed media works of art, Stephanie Keeling, Calvary Elementary School (large meeting room)
- How-To Paint with watercolor, Katina Johnson, watercolorist (small meeting room)
- How-To check your vitals, Amelia Bradshaw, Marion County Public Library (genealogy room)
- How-To get your legal papers in order, Kandice Engle-Gray, Attorney (adult reading area)
 
10:25-10:45 a.m.
- How-To create duct tape hair bows, Gracie Bradshaw and Amanda Morgeson, Marion County Public Library (large meeting room)
- How-To put together a disaster preparedness plan, Hayden Johnson, Marion County emergency management director (small meeting room)
- How-To have your voice heard by your representative, Terry Mills, Kentucky state representative (adult reading area)

Bickett book signing rescheduled for Sept. 5
Charlie Bickett was supposed to have a book signing Aug. 28 at the Marion County Public Library for his book, “Over 100 Years of Stories and Tales of Raywickians,” but the books didn’t arrive on time.
So, Bickett has rescheduled his book signing for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 at the library.
