No games were played last week in Marion County as Mother Nature wreaked havoc all over the state.

Girls games against Nelson County and Bardstown were cancelled as well as boys games against Christian Academy of Louisville, Nelson County and Elizabethtown.

Two middle schools, St. Charles and St. Augustine, faced tournament cancellations. The teams were supposed to tip off early in the week at Bardstown Middle School. Games hadn't been rescheduled as of press time.

Upward basketball games and Marion County Youth League games were also cancelled. No word has been received on when those games will be rescheduled.

Lady Knights Head Coach Trent Milby was unable to be reached via phone before deadline. Knights Head Coach Tim Peterson held practice at a local gym on Sunday. He was upbeat about the time off.

"We've had no break all year long, so this has been a good break," he said. "A week off didn't hurt us. It's positive because we come back refreshed."

The coach also said he'd heard that no games would be played until school resumes. At press time, school was cancelled Monday. Peterson said he'd received no word on when the cancelled games would be rescheduled.
