The Marion County Industrial Foundation Board of Directors approved their annual report during a meeting Jan. 31.

The proposed budget included $330,850 in revenue and expenses. This is a slight increase over the $329,605 budgeted for 2012.

The actual 2012 expenditures are estimated to come in under budget at  $315,128.10.

The report notes that the foundation remains focused on recruiting new industry, assisting existing industries, developing Main Street, tourism, technical education and meeting housing demands in the community.

Marion County Economic Development Director Tom Lund noted in the report that eight expansions with $400 million in new investments had been announced in anticipation of up to 500 new jobs.

The report also notes the Maker’s Mark is increasing its bourbon storage capacity. This new construction could bring up to $16.8 million in taxes to Marion County over the next 30 years.
