For the second time in less than three months, Joy Global Inc. has announced a layoff at its Lebanon plant. On Aug. 24, Joy Mining Machinery notified its employees that 45 of them will be laid off Oct. 26.
On Aug. 28, Joy Global notified the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training of the cutbacks. That report noted that Joy is "experiencing a temporary decrease in customer orders" and that is the cause of the layoffs.
