The Marion County Knights junior varsity boys basketball team hosted the JV district tournament Saturday at Lebanon Middle School. They drew the Adair County Indians and played the second game of the day after the Campbellsville Eagles took on Taylor County in the first game of the day.
In the first game, the Cardinals were upset by the Eagles with a final score of 46-42. In the second game, the JV Knights played the Adair County Indians. Marion County outscored Adair County in three of the four quarters, but the Indians doubled up the Knights in the second quarter. The Knights would play from behind throughout the second half, only getting as close as three points late in the fourth quarter. Marion County had a chance at the end to tie the game with a three-point goal and send the game to overtime, but turned the ball over on their last possession, ensuring the Adair County victory with a final score of 45-42.
In the championship game, the Campbellsville Eagles took on the Adair County Indians. Adair County went on to claim the district tournament championship in a thrilling overtime game against Campbellsville, 45-41.
