Kara Tingle Reward Fund up to $12,000

-A A +A

She's been missing for three years

By Stevie Lowery

It's been three years since Kara Tingle disappeared.
No one has seen or heard from Kara since July 17, 2010, when she was last seen on Beechfork Loop Road in Gravel Switch. She was driving a family member's car that was found two days later on the Bluegrass Parkway.
Kara’s mother, Sheila Tingle, has come to terms with the fact that it’s unlikely her daughter is still alive. But, stories, such as the recent case involving a Cleveland, Ohio man who is accused of holding three women captive for a decade, give her hope that there might be a chance Kara is still out there. But, realistically, Sheila knows that’s not likely. At this point, Sheila and Kara’s family, including her two children, Austin, 10, and Nora, 4, are desperate for closure.
“There are things worse than death. It’s the unknown.” Sheila said. “At this point we have no where to go except to God and prayer. That’s why I have asked everyone to pray. That’s our link to Kara.”
Sheila said no matter what is discovered, she just wants closure.
“Everyday that goes by is a day closer to us finding out the truth,” Sheila said.
Kara Rigdon, as she was known when she disappeared, was going through a divorce when she vanished. Her divorce is now final, and her maiden name has been restored.
Police have never named a suspect in Kara’s case.
Kara’s ex-husband, William Robert, “Bobby” Rigdon, is awaiting trial on a murder charge in Casey County in an unrelated case.
According to KSP Detective Jamie Richard, the investigation into Kara’s disappearance is ongoing.
A $12,00 reward is being offered for information leading to Kara's whereabouts. Anyone willing to come forward with information in the details surrounding Kara’s disappearance, which leads to the recovery of Kara or Kara’s remains, will be eligible to receive the reward money.
