Kentucky Classic Arts presents Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Kids

-A A +A

Marion County will be showcasing more local talent and fostering a culture for theatre and the arts with the youth through Kentucky Classic Arts’ Spring Theatre Workshop and presentation of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Kids. Thirty-two students between the ages of five and 15 have been working on this production since late February. Under the professional guidance of a team of theatrical talent from around the area, students have learned how to become a character, how to move on stage and how to become more confident in front of a crowd.
“It is our goal to build a culture for the arts in our community,” Robin Humphress of Kentucky Classic Arts said. “Involving students and their families in all aspects of putting on a production ignites a love for the arts and gives them an identity of community involvement. Kentucky Classic Arts desires that all students have the opportunity to participate in creative expression. We were thrilled to see the number of children interested in auditioning for this cast exceed our expectations.”
The junior cast will be performing Friday, May 17 at 7 p.m., and a special matinee performance at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 18. All performances will be held at Angelic Hall of the Fine Arts Center at Centre Square on Spalding Ave, Lebanon. In addition to these performances, several local schools will be traveling to Angelic Hall on a field trip to see the shows on May 20-21.
