The Marion County High School football team fell short against district rival North Bullitt High School, losing 21-14 in Shepherdsville.
With the game knotted 7-7 early in the fourth quarter, one North Bullitt drive was propelled 45 yards by penalties, setting up an easy score for Eagles standout Dalton Cissell.
The Eagles added insult to injury, going up 21-7 late in the fourth on another score.
The Knights battled back, scoring on a Dylan Peterson run with under two minutes left in the fourth, putting the Knights down 21-14 with just under two minutes remaining.
The "Maroon Curtain" defense forced a three and out on the Eagles next possession but burned the Knights remaining timeout.
On the last drive a pass interference call put the Knights within striking distance but the clock was their worst enemy, running out before the Knights could compose a successful drive.
The loss gives the Knights a three seed in the playoffs and guarantees a road game in the opening round. North Bullitt locks up the two seed and Bullitt East controls the top seed.
