The Lady Knights played two home games last week while the Knights traveled to Pulaski County for their only game of the week. The teams had games scheduled for Thursday night, but inclement weather forced the postponement of those games.
The Lady Knights hosted Berea Monday of last week and somewhat struggled to a 5-2 loss and played North Bullitt to a 2-2 draw on Saturday.
Head Coach Hart Hagan said the team has shown some improvement but also shows areas that still need work.
“Right now we are struggling with team defense and not applying pressure across the field” Hagan said.  “We are also allowing teams too much time to make decisions.”
Hagan complimented the offense.
“We are much farther along this year than we were last year,” he said.
Noel and Sara Obata provided most of the scoring and created a lot of offense, according to Hagan. Lauren Brussell stepped into a new position and kept playing this week to help the team.
The Knights soccer team traveled to Pulaski County to kick off their season with an impressive 9-0 victory. Five different players scored goals, led by Christian Carmona with three and John Southall with two.
“We played a complete game from start to finish,” Head Coach Greg Conley said. “I am very impressed with the play of Joey Costello in the midfield with his work horse type performance.”
The Knights next game will come against district opponent Mercer County tomorrow at home and the Lady Knights will travel to Mercer County.
