Knights out of state tennis tournament

The Marion County Knights boys tennis players got off to a good start in the KHSAA state tennis tournament Thursday, but no Knights will be playing on Friday, the second day of the tournament.

Marion County senior Austin Spalding has won his first round match in the KHSAA state tennis tournament in Lexington.

Spalding defeated Ft. Thomas Highlands sophomore Drew Freyberger, 7-5, 6-2, in the first round. In the second round, Spalding faced ninth-seed Hunter Mills of Graves County. Mills defeated Spalding in the second round, 6-2, 6-3.
