On Friday night, the Marion County High School boys basketball team travels to Campbellsville High School to take on the Eagles (6-2) in district play.
Both teams are currently undefeated in district play and are looking for an advantage in gaining the top seed during the 20th District tournament.
According to Knights Head Coach Tim Peterson, senior guard Bryton Taylor leads the Eagles. Taylor is a six-foot-two-inch shooting guard who can play inside and outside.
Another threat for the Eagles is senior forward Thomas Downs.
Peterson described Downs as having a big body down low similar to Charles Barkley. Downs can pound the boards and wear out opponents down low.
With the Knights lacking in size, especially the type the Eagles bring to the table, Peterson is hoping to use the Knights speed and pressure defense to create turnovers. Peterson thinks if he can get the big boys at Campbellsville running up and down the floor, the Knights might have a chance to steal one on the road against the district's preseason favorite.
The Knights and Eagles tip-off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Campbellsville High School.
