Knights split soccer scrimmages

 The Marion County Knights soccer team swung back into action over the weekend to scrimmage in the Bluegrass State Games. 

The Knights played in two games on July 26. After falling 2-0 against the Grant County Braves, the Knights dusted themselves off and went on to defeat the University Heights Blazers, 2-0. 

Freshman Colby Hood fired in the Knights’ first goal while sophomore Alan Guzman knocked in their second on an assist from senior Ryker Cassidy. 

According to Knights Coach Greg Conley, Dalton Hammon also provided an outstanding performance. 

Alumni game

On Friday, the Knights will be hosting an alumni game at the youth soccer fields on Fairgrounds Road. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
