An abrupt and unexpected defeat during the 20th District tournament brought an end to the Marion County Knights season last week. They fell to the Adair County Indians on a three-pointer at the horn to end the game 61-60.
Despite being eliminated in the first round of the tournament, the Knights averaged 72.1 points a game, and the season has proven to be the best year for the Knights since the 1999-2000 season. That year, the Knights went 27-4. In the 14 years since, the Knights have only had four seasons where they finished with a winning record.
