The Marion County Lady Knights are sitting pretty atop the 20th District standings with only one district opponent remaining.
The Lady Knights locked up the first place seed in the 20th District Tournament that begins in late February. The girls will either face Taylor County or Campbellsville, depending if Taylor County beat Adair County on Tuesday night. Campbellsville and Taylor County split their head-to-head match ups this season but since the Lady Eagles won the second game, they hold an edge over the Lady Cards.
The Lady Knights are one of two teams still unbeaten (8-0) in region play. Green County is the only other team unbeaten (13-0) in region play.
The Adair County Lady Indians still have to face Taylor County and Campbellsville to finish out district play.
Campbellsville finishes up with Adair County. Taylor finishes with Adair.
Last season the Lady Knights were 8-0 in district play, running the table and the regular season and the tournament. They are 20-1 against district opponents over the last three years with Trent Milby at the helm. They have won 17 straight district games, dating back to Jan. 26, 2007. Their last district loss was against Adair County in an overtime thriller at the Roby Dome on Jan. 23, 2007.
